Layettes for Venezuela

After more than two decades, political strife continues to impact the lives of Venezuelans at the most basic level. This is felt strongly by new mothers and their newborns. Extreme inflation makes it nearly impossible for already impoverished moms to acquire basic care and hygiene items like diapers, blankets, and clothing.

Each year, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Maple Grove, our team collects baby supplies and financial donations for shipping costs. With the help of family in Texas, we’re able to strategically ship supplies to fellow Rotarians in Venezuela who can efficiently get them to the mothers and babies.

In 2024, we collected enough supplies to provide more than 100 mothers with a basket of gifts for them and their newborns. An infant bathtub for each family, donated by partners in Venezuela, was filled with the following and more:

  • Prenatal vitamins
  • Baby bottles and cleaning brushes
  • Pacifiers
  • Infant clothing, socks, and hats
  • Cloth diapers and pins
  • Baby wipes
  • Infant grooming kits
  • Burp cloths and bibs
  • Sippy cups
  • Baby shampoos, washes, and lotions
  • Teething rings
  • Receiving blankets
  • Hand sanitizer

In preparation for our 2025 shipment, we’re collecting donations of supplies for the gift baskets and of funds to help cover the high shipping costs. So how can you help?
