Spring in Maple Grove will bring at least five new dining options to town from donuts and fast food to Chicago-style pizza and a couple of sit-down restaurants, there’s sure to be something new for everyone!
If you frequent the “downtown” Maple Grove area along Elm Creek Boulevard between Weaver Lake Road and Hemlock Lane, you’ve probably noticed the destruction of Wild Bill’s and some action at the old Don Pablo’s. The Wild Bill’s is being rebuilt to accommodate a Bank of America branch and Crave, a restaurant specializing in American cuisine and fresh suishi. No opening date has been announce, so swing over to one of their other metro locations if you’re anxious to try it out!
While we’re in that area of town, let’s look at the former Don Pablo’s site. Expected to open later this spring is Brick and Bourbon, an eatery run by self-proclaimed “foodies” and “ambassadors of great bourbon and whiskey”. The original and only other location is in Stillwater. An Eden Prairie location will follow up the opening of the Maple Grove location.
Heading northeast across town you’ll spot a stand-alone building at the 610 and Zachary Lane, right in front of Parnassus Pep school. Soon you’ll see the signs of a Dunkin’ Donuts moving in! It’s sure to be a convenient stop for a morning commute coffee-stop or picking up a baker’s dozen for your morning meeting.
Now let’s make our way west on 610 toward Maple Grove Hospital where we’re seeing a business boom. Business construction in this area slowed during the recession, leaving lots of store fronts empty. With the bump in the economy, it’s now coming to life. Next door to Daily Dose (our personal fave), a Chicago-style pizzeria is opening up later in May. Rosati’s Chicago Pizza offers all you’d expect in from a 5th-generation pizza joint hailing from the Windy City itself – deep dish pizza, fried ravioli, and hot subs.
If quick-serve fried chicken is your thing, then you’re in luck with the June opening of Raising Cane’s. You’ll find them at Maple Grove Parkway and Hospital Drive, right by the new Bobby and Steve’s station.
Last, but certainly not least, is Rock Elm Tavern opening behind Daily Dose in a stand-alone building. A sit-down restaurant is just what Maple Grove needs on this end of town! Based out of Plymouth, the folks at Rock Elm bring us classic American food, brunch, and a great bar menu with happy hour specials.
